CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Caleti. 2nd century BC. Quarter Stater (Electrum, 12 mm, 1.80 g, 7 h), 'type nord-armoricain - à la roue'. Celticized laureate male head to right, with long curls and wheel on cheek. Rev. Celticized horseman to right, holding spear in his right hand; below horse, wheel; below forelegs, ornament formed out of three crescents; in exergue, imitative legend devolved into ornamented ground line. DT 102. LT -. SLM -. Very rare. A lovely coin of fine style. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
